FOUNDATIONS LAB
An 8-Week Live Marriage Coaching Experience for Couples Preparing for Marriage
You’re preparing for a wedding.
But are you preparing for life?
You can spend months planning the day you say I do.
But the wedding lasts a day. The life you build together is what comes next.
Becoming One Foundations Lab is an 8-week live, online coaching experience designed to help couples enter marriage with more than love and good intentions.
Together, you’ll explore what it means to build a marriage where two people can become stronger together, leverage their differences, navigate life as a team, and create something neither could create alone

Marriage gives you partner.
Becoming One teaches you how to partner.
Most couples enter marriage believing they love each other. But love is only the beginning.
A thriving marriage requires two people who understand what they are building together, who they are becoming individually, and how to bring everything they carry into the partnership.
That’s the heart of Becoming One. It’s not about becoming identical. It’s about becoming unified.
It’s about learning to see your spouse’s strengths as an advantage, not a threat. Learning to replace selfishness with love. Learning to move from two individual agendas toward joint agreement. And learning to become the kind of couple that can face the realities of life and become stronger together.
THIS ISN’T ABOUT CHECKING BOXES BEFORE THE WEDDING.
It’s about understanding the kind of partnership you’re building—and intentionally becoming the people who can build it.
There are conversations every couple should have before marriage.
But preparation for marriage is about more than answering a list of questions.
It’s about understanding the person you’re becoming, the person you’re choosing, and the life you’re preparing to build together.
That’s the work we do inside Foundations Lab.

Why Two Are Better Than One
We make the case for becoming one. Explore what marriage makes possible when two people stop operating as individuals and begin building as partners.
WEEK 2 — THE ROOT
The Problem With Selfishness

THIS IS MORE THAN PREMARITAL PREPARATION.
It’s preparation for partnership.
What could your marriage make possible?
What could you build if you genuinely believed that you were better together?
What would change if your differences became an advantage?
What would become possible if you could actually operate in agreement?
And who could you become individually, and together, if your marriage became a source of strength for everything else you’re called to build?
That’s the conversation inside Becoming One Foundations Lab.

MEET YOUR COACHES
KAVAN & KEISHA ALLEN
Kavan and Keisha Allen are the dynamic duo behind House of Clay and Superhuman Marriage. They are entrepreneurs, ministry leaders, authors and marriage coaches who have spent more than 15 years building a life together while raising five children.
They are, in many ways, opposites.
Kavan is naturally extroverted, energetic and exceptionally comfortable in front of a room. He’s the kind of person who can meet someone for the first time and make them feel like they’ve known each other for years. He’s a gifted communicator and speaker who can take an idea and bring it to life.
Keisha is more introverted, calm, warm and nurturing. She has a quiet presence that makes people feel safe, seen and comfortable. She’s a fashion designer, writer and creative thinker who has a gift for taking ideas, organizing them and giving them language or bringing them to life.
And yet, these differences are part of what makes them work so well together. They don’t see their differences as obstacles to overcome. They see them as strengths to leverage.
They share the same core values, the same commitment to family and the same desire to build something meaningful together. But they don’t need to approach everything in the same way.
That philosophy has shaped not only their marriage, but the way they build.
It shaped the way they built their businesses.
It shaped the way they parent.
It shaped the way they do ministry.
And it shaped the way they wrote their book, Becoming Superhuman.
Where one is strong, the other often brings something different to the table. Where one sees an opportunity, the other may see a dimension that wasn’t visible before.
They believe that two people don’t have to become more alike to become more united. They have to learn how to leverage what each person uniquely carries into the partnership.
That is the philosophy behind Becoming One Foundations Lab.
